SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's golf team wrapped up fall play in the 2020 Terrier Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing in third place overall.
ETSU topped the field, posting rounds of 292, 290 and 297 to total 879 (+15) claim the team title. The Bucs were led by Warda Amira Rawof who tied Chattanooga's Dorota Zalewska for the individual title, both shooting a 3-over-par 219 for the tournament.
After a slower start in round one, the Terriers bounced back to card a 294 in the second round on Monday, finishing with a score of 309 in round three.
"We started out a little rough," Wofford head coach Angie Ridgeway said. "Our lack of competition kind of showed, but the team settled in nicely after the first round."
Nicole Amos and Lindsey Hollis finished in a four-way tie for 12th place, shooting 12-over-par for the tournament. Amos registered a birdie on No. 15 to finish with a 228 for the tournament, while Hollis, who was playing as an individual, had birdies on No. 10, No. 13 and No. 15.
Lina Settelmayer finished 17th after shooting a 5-over-par 77 on Tuesday, while Becca Earl (T18) was just one stroke behind her for the tournament (+15), sinking four birdies on the day.
Speedy Kent rounded out the scoring for the Terriers, posting a score of 232 for the tournament.
"It felt fantastic to get back on the golf course together," Ridgeway said. "The team has been wonderful about practice, but we all need some competition."
The Terrier Intercollegiate, which is an annual event hosted by Wofford, was the team's lone fall competition in 2020.
"Overall I'm pleased," said Ridgeway. "Saw a lot of positives. They all battled well and hung in there."
