SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced its weekly women's soccer honors on Tuesday afternoon, with Wofford's Rachel Rasins being named Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in Friday's victory at Furman.
 
Rasins is the first Terrier to secure a SoCon player of the week nod since Maria Mon garnered a Defensive Player of the Week honor during the spring season on April 6, 2021.
 
In Wofford's match at rival Furman on Sept. 24, the junior forward tallied five points with two goals and one assist en route to a 3-2 win for the Terriers. It was Wofford's first road win at Furman since 2009 and first in the series since 2010. Rasins played a role in each of Wofford's goals. The first was an assist to Caileen Almeida, whose goal brought the Terriers level in the 18^th minute. Rasins then scored her first goal of the season in the 40^th minute to give Wofford a lead. Though Furman tied things with a penalty kick goal, Rasins slotted her second goal of the match home in the 77^th minute for the game-winner.
 
The two goals were Rasins' first of the campaign, and they put her at a tie for first on the team with Katie Gilligan. The game-winner was the first of her career.

Also nominated for defensive player of the week: Jess Newton (The Citadel), Shu Ohba (ETSU), Morgan McAslan (Samford), Abbey Saddler (Chattanooga), Melody Mezzina (Western Carolina) and Maria Mon (Wofford)
