SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College softball head coach
Mark Line has announced that four additional student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent or letters of commitment to join the team next fall. The four include Bayley Betsill, Lilly Compton, A.J. Felices and Kaytlin Greenwood.
Bayley Betsill, from Greenville, South Carolina, has played outfield, middle infield and pitcher at Wade Hampton High School. A four-year letterwinner, she earned All-Region honors in 2021 with a .344 batting average and 90 strikeouts. In 2020 she had a .308 batting average in the four games played during the shortened season. During the 2019 season she was named team MVP with a .357 batting average. She also played one season of basketball and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Lilly Compton is a pitcher and infielder from Haymarket, Virginia. A three-year letterwinner at Battlefield High School, she has a career ERA of 2.51 with an opponent's batting average of .236. At the plate, she has posted a .417 career batting average. She was named first team All-District in 2019 and 2021 as the team won a pair of district championships.
A.J. Felices, from San Antonio, Texas, is a middle infielder at Clark High School. A four-year letterwinner, she was named team captain in 2021 and 2022. She has earned three first team All-Academic Awards. During the 2021 season she led the team in RBIs and tied for the team lead in home runs. In 2019 the team was 26-1 to win the division. She played travel softball for the Firecrackers. Her sister, Aimee, played softball at Alabama State.
Kaytlin Greenwood, a shortstop from Columbia, South Carolina, plays at Cardinal Newman School. In the 2021 season the team won a region title and finished second in the state as she batted .437 with 17 RBIs and five home runs. During the shortened 2020 season the team was 5-0 and she had a .400 batting average. As a freshman in 2019 the team was 18-3 and won region and state championships.
The four join Kate Platte, a middle infielder from Aiken, South Carolina, who signed with the Terriers in November.
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
