Leigh Olson Joins Women’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College women's lacrosse head coach Jessie Aguglia has announced that Leigh Olson is joining the staff as an assistant coach. Olson previously worked with Aguglia as an assistant coach at Gardner-Webb.
 
Olson spent four seasons at Gardner-Webb. The 2022 season saw the Runnin' Bulldogs win their first conference tournament game. The team set a new single-season record for wins (10) and had their best regular season finish coming in at fifth in the Big South.
 
She brings a wealth of knowledge to the program, having served as head lacrosse coach at Worcester Prep in Berlin, Md. from 2015-2016 and as the head junior varsity coach at Worcester Prep from 2014-2016.
 
She was a third-team IWLCA All-America selection in 2013 at Elizabethtown (Pa.) College, also earning All-Region and first-team All-Conference honors. Olson was also named MVP of the league championship tournament that season.
 
Olson led NCAA Division III in points per game in 2013 and set a new program record with 117 points (73 goals, 44 assists). She was named Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year in 2012 and earned second-team All-Region and All-Conference accolades.
 
She graduated from Salisbury (Md.) University in 2015 with a degree in liberal arts and psychology. In December of 2021 she earned a master of business administration degree from Gardner-Webb. She and her husband, Eric, have a son, Benjamin.
