SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Wofford women's golf team recorded its second-lowest round score in program history in Tuesday's final round at the Islander Classic, jumping host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a score of 884 (+32) to win the tournament's crown at the par-71, 5,986-yard Brackenridge Park Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas. Lindsey Hollis (+3) led the Terriers runner-up for her first career top-five finish, while senior
Becca Earl (+4) moved into first all-time in top-five finishes at Wofford tied for third. Freshman
Maggie Jackson (+11) added her third career top-20 finish to round out the Terriers' top finishers.

The Terriers finished 4-over in the final round with a score of 288, marking Wofford's best 18-hole score since recording 290 in the second round of the Elon Invitational on Sept. 23, 2019.

"This team has become so resilient," said head coach
Angie Ridgeway of Wofford's third-round rally for the victory. "They are getting better and better at staying in the present moment while on the course."

Hollis, a junior from Signal Hill, Tenn., recorded a career-low 54-hole score of 216 to finish in second-place – tying
Becca Earl for the fourth lowest individual 54-hole score in program history (216 at Palmetto Intercollegiate, 2019).

"Lindsey has worked really hard to become a player that doesn't hang on to bad shots or bad breaks," added Ridgeway of Hollis. "It has made a difference in how she carries herself on the course. She works hard and I'm glad to see it paying off for her and the whole team."

Hollis led the way from the very beginning, using four birdies in Monday's first round to match a career-low 1-under 70 prior to recording a 74 in the second round to remain in the field's top five. Slotted at third entering the final 18, the junior then finished strong with a 1-over 72 to climb up a spot and hold on for the runner-up finish at Tuesday's conclusion.

Additionally, Hollis led the entire 96-player field in pars (39) and finished second among the field in par-scoring (E), while recording seven birdies.

Senior
Becca Earl moved into first all-time in top-five finishes (11) after finishing tied for third with a score of 217 and leading Wofford with a team-high eight birdies. Earl emerged into the top 10 after carding back-to-back 74s over the first 36 holes prior to recording four birdies in the final round for a 1-under 70 to sit at 4-over.

Freshman
Maggie Jackson continues to impress in her first year, finishing even with three birdies for a career-low 71 to sit within the top five after the first round. A rough second round that saw an 8-over 79 would briefly set Jackson back, though, the Tallulah Falls, Ga. native rebounded with a 3-over 74 on Tuesday to finish tied for 14
th with a score of 224.

Wofford (+32) bested Houston Baptist (+33) by a stroke, while Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (+34) slid to third upon leading the field entering Tuesday's final day of competition, though, the host's Anastacia Johnson (+2) edge Hollis by just a stroke to win low medalist.

The Terriers also scored wins over UTRGV, Creighton, Texas Wesleyan, Weber State, CSU-Northridge, Delaware State, North Dakota, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, Omaha, Drake, Southern Illinois, McLennan CC, St. Thomas and Prairie View A&M.

Nicole Amos (+16) recorded seven birdies over the tournament's span to finish tied for 24
th with a total score of 229, while senior
Speedy Kent (+23) finished tied for 50
th to round the Terriers with a score of 235.
