SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College and AFL have announced the Student-Athlete Leaders of the Month for December. The month's honorees are Kyler Filewich from the men's basketball team and Racheal Rose from the women's basketball team.
A junior from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Filewich is averaging 10.6 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game for the Terriers. Among Southern Conference leaders, he is third in rebounding. He has eight games of 10 or more rebounds, which includes a career-high of 21 against Southern Wesleyan. He also has five double-doubles on the season. A finance major, he has been named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
A junior from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Rose has been named Southern Conference Player of the Week five times this season. She leads the Southern Conference in scoring with 20.0 points per game and is second in rebounding with 8.4 per game, while also leading in free throw percentage. She has scored 20 or more points in nine games and recorded a double-double in four games, including a signature win over Virginia. A psychology major, she has been named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and has been named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week twice this season.
