SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The No. 8 Wofford women's soccer team is set to host the No. 9 VMI Keydets in the first round of the SoCon Tournament at Snyder Field on Tuesday, October 29. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with a 6:00 pm kickoff. This will serve as the third consecutive year the team has hosted the opening round of the conference tournament.

Terriers in the Tourney
Since the Division I era, the Terriers have posted an overall record of 10-19 in the Southern Conference Tournament. Head Coach
Elissa Post won her SoCon Tournament debut against VMI in 2023, defeating the Keydets 2-1 at Snyder Field. This will be the third consecutive year Wofford has hosted the first round of the tournament as the eight seed with last season and this season featuring VMI as the opponent. The team is 2-0 all-time against VMI in the SoCon Tournament as they defeated the Keydets 2-1 in both 2019 and 2023. The Terriers lead the all-time series against VMI with a 12-1-2 overall record, including an unbeaten 6-0-2 record at Snyder field.

Leading the Wofford offensive attack is junior forward
Ines Obradovac who enters Tuesday ranked third in the SoCon in goals scored (nine) and fourth in points (20).
Megan Childress follows behind with five goals and four assists for a total of 14 points this year. Keeping it steady in the goal is freshman keeper
Elizabeth Navola, who currently leads the SoCon at 5.43 saves per game.
Kate Markey leads all freshmen in the conference with four assists as well as third amongst freshmen with 1388 minutes of action.
Scouting the Keydets
Wofford and VMI are meeting for the second time this season after a 1-1 draw on Thursday, October 17, at Snyder Field. The Keydets boast a roster that returns seven starters from a year ago, including their top-five scorers. Junior forward Riley Boucher leads VMI with eight goals on the year, which ranks her fifth in the conference. Whitney Tracy holds things down in the net, sitting at third in the SoCon with 4.72 saves per game. As a team, the Keydets have scored 19 goals this season while giving up 40, posting a 1-5-2 record on the road.
The game is set for 6:00 pm at Snyder Field, along with No. 7 UNCG playing host to No. 10 The Citadel at 6:00 pm on the other side of the bracket. The winner of Tuesday night's matchup will travel to Cullowhee, North Carolina, on Friday, November 1, to take on the SoCon Regular Season Champions, Western Carolina, in the quarterfinals.
