SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced its all-tournament team upon the conclusion of the 2025 SoCon Championship Presented by Holston Gases yesterday.
Alec Bouchard earned a spot on the team as the lone representative from Wofford.
Â
This is Bouchard's first-career all-tournament team selection, and it marks the seventh-straight tournament in which a Terrier has been honored. Bouchard's selection as a starting pitcher makes it four consecutive tournaments with a starter honored and six in a row with a pitcher recognized.
Â
Bouchard got the starting nod against No. 6 seed UNCG on Wednesday, May 21, in a single-elimination play in game. The sophomore earned the win to improve his record to 4-1 as he hurled 6.1 innings. He was charged with two runs on nine hits with one walk, posting a career-best 10 punchouts. This is the second double-digit strikeout performance by a Terrier this season and the first in the SoCon Tournament since Matthew Marchal tossed 15 in 2023, coincidentally also against UNCG.
Â
The 10 strikeouts were part of a combined 17 by the Terriers, which are two shy of Wofford's single-game program record and the most by the team since also recording 17 against Lafayette last season.
Â
Wofford won the game 4-2 and advanced to the double-elimination portion of the event before ultimately falling twice on Friday. The Terriers were 33-27 this season, the seventh-straight campaign reaching 30 wins. Wofford earned two wins over ranked opponents this season and made history on April 1 by winning the first-ever game played at Fifth Third Park in downtown Spartanburg.
