SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford baseball team had over 30 Terriers, new and current, participate in various summer collegiate wood bat leagues with six Terriers receiving end-of-summer accolades from the Wofford coaching staff.
Four Terriers claimed titles this summer:
John Gray,
Mason Weaver,
Tanner Hardin and
Davis Rivers all in their respective leagues. Gray and Weaver were chosen by the Wofford baseball coaching staff to receive summer awards for their performances.
Senior right-handed pitcher Gray received the Pitcher of the Summer award for his star-pitching performance playing in the Valley League as a member of the Strasburg Express. Gray led his team in wins (4) and strikeouts (34) in the regular season and recorded 12 strikeouts during their playoff run to become the Valley League Champions. Gray threw for the first seven innings in the championship game, allowed one earned run and seven strikeouts to lead the Express to their fourth VBL title and first since 2021. Gray had an overall record of 4-1 and an ERA of 2.19 during the summer season. Hardin was also a member of the Express.
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Weaver was awarded the Breakout Player of the Summer after a great season with the Saugerties Stallions in the Perfect Game Baseball League. Weaver appeared in seven games throughout the summer, throwing 19 strikeouts and putting up a 2.02 ERA. Weaver threw four shutout innings in the longest championship title game in PGBL history, where the Stallions won the PGBL Championship game.
Returning senior outfielder
Logan Tribble received the Summer Most Valuable Player award, along with being named an All-Star in the Cal Ripken Sr. League. He was a member of the Southern Maryland Senators, where he played 38 games. Tribble finished the summer season with a batting average of .395, owning 47 hits and 24 RBI. Tribble was the league's MVP, was selected to the 2025 First Team All-League, and was the second-best hitter in the Cap Ripken. Two Terriers,
Bryce Harder and Jack Euart were also members of the Senators.
Sophomore
Cade Collins played in the notorious Northwoods League as a member of the Traverse City Pit Spitters where he posted a batting average of .271 over 61 games, including three playoff games. Collins had three home runs, 52 RBI (first on team, 11
th best in the league) and a .756 OPS. Collins was awarded Position Player of the Summer. Collins' team was the first and second half Great Lakes East Champions with a post-season run in the Great Lakes Championship game. Two more Terriers,
Hunter Herndon and
Charlie Horne, were also members of the Pit Spitters.
After being named an All-Star last summer, senior outfielder
Niko Brini was awarded Mr. Resilient after his 32-game performance in the Cape Cod Baseball League as a member of the Harwich Mariners. Brini had 28 hits, 14 RBI, and one home run. He was also the winner of the 2025 George Lane Sportsmanship Award, which is awarded to one Mariner every season that shows exceptional sportsmanship on and off the field. Brini finished with a .653 OPS and a trip to the Cape Cod League Championship game.
Incoming freshman Alex Myers was awarded the Newcomer of the Summer after spending the summer in the New York Collegiate Baseball League as a member of the Olean Oilers. Myers played 18 games and averaged .419 and recorded three RBI. Two more Terriers, J.T. Smith and Noah Gerrick, were also members of the Oilers.
