•
Jack Renwick was the best bunter in the nation, topping Division I in 2023 with 28 sacrifices laid down to pace Wofford's national-best 86 sac-bunts. Renwick is already Wofford's career leader in bunts and set the single-season mark for both Wofford and the SoCon.

THE EDWARDS ERA
It is the dawn of a new era for Wofford baseball, as the program enters its first season under the direction of head coach
J.J. Edwards, who had served as an assistant with the program for the past 12 seasons. Associate head coach for the last two years, Edwards was elevated to head coach on July 13, 2023, after longtime Terrier skipper Todd Interdonato accepted the same role at Boston College. Edwards is the 35th head coach in the program's history, which dates back to 1889. Under the tutelage of Edwards, the Terrier offense has ranked in the top three of the SoCon in batting average every season since 2018. Wofford has ranked in the top five nationally in stolen bases in nine of the last 11 seasons and has not ranked below ninth in the country in that span. Each of the last three SoCon Players of the Year have come from Wofford, with Colin Davis (2021), Lawson Hill (2022) and
Ryan Galanie (2023) earning the honors. Each of Wofford's last two coaches won their first game as skipper, with Steve Traylor's bunch topping High Point 6-1 in the 2000 opener, and Interdonato's squad dispatched St. Peters 14-3 in the 2008 opener. Edwards will look to make it three in a row when Wofford faces Towson in the 2024 opener.

PRESEASON HONORS
The preseason SoCon balloting tabbed Wofford to finish third in the league. Samford was picked in first place, and Mercer was picked in second. Samford received seven of the eight first-place votes, the lone non-Bulldog vote going to Wofford. Three Terriers were honored on the Preseason All-SoCon Team, all three receiving second-team recognition.
Zac Cowan,
Brice Martinez and
Jack Renwick each earned preseason recognition. Notably absent was
Dixon Black, who despite receiving Second-Team All-SoCon honors upon the conclusion of last season was snubbed off of the preseason team in 2024.
Â
SMALL BALL
Wofford, or Bunt School, uses a combination of stolen bases and sacrifice bunts to advance on the basepaths. Wofford dropped down 86 sac-bunts last season, tops in the nation. Wofford also featured the best bunter in the country, as
Jack Renwick's 28 sac-bunts led the NCAA, 15 ahead of the next closest players, four tied with 13 each.
Brice Martinez and
Marshall Toole were eighth nationally with 12 each, second in the SoCon. With 153 steals, the Terriers were second in the SoCon and fifth nationally. Wofford's 2.59 steals per game checked in at fourth in the country. With 26 steals,
Trey Yunger ranked third in the SoCon.
Marshall Toole was not far behind with 23 steals in seventh, and
Ryan Galanie owned 19 steals for eighth place. The Terriers have secured a 10th consecutive full season with 100 or more steals.
Â
BROTHERLY CONNECTION
The Terrier roster once again features a Rhadans, as junior transfer
Dylan Rhadans has joined the pitching staff this season. He is the brother of former Terrier hurler Dalton Rhadans, who featured for Wofford from 2020-22. Though both are pitchers, the duo from Acworth, Georgia, have a unique distinction. Dalton was a right-handed pitcher while Dylan is a lefty. Dalton was primarily a closer and spent almost his entire career with Wofford coming out of the bullpen, as his 17 career saves are fourth most in program history. He started only one game in a Terrier uniform - his last. On the other hand, Dylan is slated as the 2024 opening day starter, set to start his very first game as a Terrier.
Â
ON DECK
The Terriers remain home for the next four games beginning with a midweek match-up against Kennesaw State at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21. That weekend, Wofford welcomes Fairleigh Dickinson to Russell C. King Field for a three-game set.
