Hall of Fame
While recruited as a basketball player, Borders made his impact on the track for the Terriers. He was the Southern Conference Champion in the triple jump (2003) and long jump (2003 and 2005). In 2002, he was named Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Freshman of the Year. A year later he was named Southern Conference Outdoor Performer of the Year. In his career, he earned All-Southern Conference Honors (top three in an event) a total of eight times. He still holds school records in the indoor triple jump, outdoor long jump and outdoor triple jump. A native of Lilburn, Georgia, Borders played basketball for four seasons, averaging 9.5 points per game. He also played one season of football.
