George Lyons was the sixth Terrier athlete selected for the Hall of Fame.
Wofford’s all-time leading scorer in basketball with 2,518 career points from 1962-65. Played under head coach Gene Alexander. Named to the All-State team three times between 1963-65 and earned honorable mention Little All-America honors. Led the state in scoring in 1963 and ’65, was second in 1964 and was the team MVP in 1965. Also played tennis at Wofford and was team captain in 1964 and ’65 and MVP in ’64. Returned to Wofford as an assistant coach in 1971-72.
