Hall of Fame
Griffin received the ultimate tribute when Mark Line, Wofford baseball’s all-time winningest skipper, called him the best player he ever coached.
The former Terrier shortstop held six school records, including career hits (193), runs (146), at bats (556), and assists (395). He also held the single-season marks for runs (54) and assists (120).
The Florence, SC, native was a three-time All-NAIA District VI selection as well as earning NAIA All-Area and honorable-mention All-America honors as a junior and senior.
Griffin ranked No. 10 in the nation in runs per game (1.46) his senior year as the Terriers set a single-season school record for victories with 27 (topped in 2007 with 30). That year also represented the first time a Wofford club qualified for postseason play in consecutive seasons.
